Star Visitor IP Tracker Install Guide

If you have a LiveJournal account, you may be interested in who views your entries and your profile. By following these steps, you can set up a special tracker on your website that will allow you to gather your visitors' data: where they live and how they found your LiveJournal profile.

  1. Register your web visitor tracking account at tracemyip.org

  2. Login to your account and click on "Add New Project" menu item

  3. Enter your LiveJournal.com full page address and name your project

  4. Select "LiveJournal.com" from the tracker drop down menu while generating your TraceMyIP code

  5. Right click on code to copy your new Javascript/HTML visitor tracking code

  6. Login to your account at LiveJournal.com

  7. Under the "Journal" menu on top, click on "Journal Style"

  8. Click on "Customize your theme" under your current theme on the right.

  9. If you are using mood themes, click on the "Advanced Options" under the "Presentation section" and place your tracker code in the web counter section at the bottom of this section, if you use other themes, continue further with this tutorial.

  10. Under the "Customize Your Theme" section, click on the "Sidebar" link on the left.

  11. Paste your HTML code in "Title of the blurb sidebar box"

  12. Click on "Save Changes"

  13. Now verify that the TraceMyIP tracker now shows up on the left sidebar on all public pages of your Live Journal account
