Squarespace Website Builder Easy Visitor Analytics and Tracking

Squarespace Website Builder Easy Visitor Analytics and Tracking Installation Guide

If you have a website set up with Squarespace.com, we have great news. Squarespace lets you easily set up a visitor counter to get real-time information on your website's visitor traffic. By following these simple instructions, you can install a user tracker that will generate website analytics and other visitor browsing and behavior information.

  1. Visit tracemyip.org and sign up for the Website Visitor Tracking service

  2. Sign in to your TraceMyIP account. Then, go to "My Projects", click on "Add New Project", and select any style of counter or tracking widget. All of them work the same way but display different information

  3. Enter your Squarespace website's web address ( e.g., username.squarespace.com ) and give a name for your project

  4. Select "Squarespace" from the list of code types and continue

  5. Once the tracker project is generated, select and copy your Squarespace JavaScript/HTML-based user statistics code

  6. Log in to your Squarespace account to edit your website

  7. Click on the "Structure" button at the top of the site

  8. Now click on "edit website footer" at the bottom of the website

  9. Paste your tracking code into the bottom of the footer code box

  10. Visit your Squarespace website and make sure the tracker now shows up in the footer of every page

Did you know? You can also paste the tracker code into a new Text/HTML widget in the sidebar. Just make sure you only have one instance of the tracker on every page, or tracking will not work!
